Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Recall Apr 8, 2014

Certain model year 2013-2014 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid vehicles have been recalled by Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. The vehicles affected were manufactured between October 2012 and October 2013, and are equipped with a DQ-200 direct-shift gearbox. The control module within the gearbox is susceptible to corrosion due to the gearbox fluid additives. This corrosion could lead to an electrical failure and result in a stall-like condition.

This sudden loss of power that could stem from the corrosion of the control module increases the risk of a crash. Volkswagen will reach out to owners and dealerships and will replace the gearbox oil with a non-corrosive fluid free of charge. If you have been notified by Volkswagen about the recall or are concerned your vehicle may fit the criteria described, contact your nearest dealer to schedule a service appointment at your earliest convenience.
